- Keep your distance. Even a weak shark can bite, and its skin can cut you.
- Don't drag it by the tail or gills. That causes serious internal injury.
- Keep crowds and dogs back, and stay out of the surf line if it's rough.
- Note the time you first saw it, if you can.
